2nd SpACE-Net workshop announced - call for Spatial Audio Works

After the success of the first SpACE-Net International Spatial Audio Workshop in January 2007, we are delighted to announce our next major event, planned for Wednesday 23rd January 2008, again to be held at the Music Research Centre (MRC), University of York, York, UK.
This time, the theme for the workshop is: 5.1 Surround-sound: Opportunity or Constraint? The previous call generated proposals for a wide variety of installations and compositions, using many different methods and implementations for manipulating and delivering spatial audio content. This year we want to see what artists can do with the ’standard‘ that is prevalent across much of the audio industry. Does 5.1 stimulate creativity or limit what can be effectively delivered?
