SpACE-Net, originally funded by the UK's EPSRC, was set up to bring together a community of spatial audio researchers, practitioners and artists, drawn from the fields of science, audio engineering and the arts. By combining theoretical, experimental and creative approaches, it aimed to identify and develop important new directions in spatial audio research and practice, and to encourage and promote work in these areas.

Binaural Sky - a Hybrid Virtual Acoustics System

A new and interesting spatial audio system based on a combination of technologies has recently been announced by Günther Theile and colleagues at Hauptmikrofon.de. It gets round the limitations of crosstalk cancelled binaural presentation by making use of Wavefield Synthesis Techniques. Details at the link below.
