African Mbira and the music of the Shona
A chance meeting in Harare on alighting from a rail and road journey from Cape Town led to a warm association with William Rusere of the Shona Tribe, Maestro of the Mbira, and an invitation to travel through the night with him on foot to his distant crow village in the rurals. A welcome from his family and the privilege of sharing their traditional lifestyle, led to the recording of their vocal and instrumental music.
