The first SpACE-Net UK workshop was held on Thursday 25th January 2007 in the Rymer auditorium of the  Music Research Centre, University of York, York, UK. Over 70 delegates attended from across the UK other European countries including Austria, Finland, Ireland and Sweden. Ville Pulkki from the Helsinki University of Technology, Laboratory of Acoustics and Audio Signal Processing gave the keynote speech and demonstrated his work relating to SIRR and DirAC spatial audio technologies. | Abstract |

Three newly commissioned spatial audio works were performed:

• 'Corresponding' by Suk-Jun Kim | Abstract |
• 'Osseointegration' by Gordon Delap, with sound synthesis by Stefan Bilbao | Abstract |
• A site specific installation/interpretation of 'Swash' by David Prior/liminal | Abstract |

• Throughout the day Soundfield UK, makers of the renowned Soundfield microphone, demonstrated some of their latest technologies, including their new A-format microphone, recently announced at AES San Francisco. | Abstract |
